Shaliza Somani’s career began in 2000 with an email marketing startup, Star Media Productions Inc., where she quickly progressed from administrative to managerial and leadership positions. Shaliza oversaw important areas including: ad inventory sales, supervision of client relationships, and managing creative and development teams. Shaliza’s experiences at Star Media laid the groundwork for her continued entrepreneurial success.

In 2004, Shaliza Somani founded One Star Media, Inc., a digital marketing and e-commerce consulting firm. As the lead at One Star, Shaliza works closely with both e-commerce merchants and payment processing companies to remarkably improve their viability within their respective industries, and to customize their products and services to better meet the needs of their clients.

Shaliza Somani is currently working with Garrison Software Company, a SaaS (software as a service) provider that enables e-commerce merchants to accept online bank transfers from millions of consumers around the globe. She plays an instrumental role in all aspects of business development and corporate planning for the company, helping to establish growth opportunities, building customer relationships, and managing marketing and sales teams.

Shaliza Somani’s greatest passion in business and life is working with people. Whether meeting new clients, networking with other industry professionals, or simply working with her colleagues, she loves connecting with people and being part of a team.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Shaliza Somani is an advocate for healthy eating and active lifestyles. This interest led her to become an investor in School Toronto, a restaurant located in downtown Toronto. School focuses on artisanal takes on classic dishes and is widely considered one of the best brunch spots in the city.
